Problem
A young family wanted a low-maintenance coastal home that could host extended family for weeks at a time without feeling cavernous when it was just the four of them.
Solution
We split the floor plan into two pavilions linked by a covered breezeway — a private wing that closes off when guests stay, and a shared living core that opens fully to the prevailing easterly.
Result
A 312 m² home that lives larger than its footprint, ventilates without air-con most of the year, and weathers the coast with hot-dip galv and fibre-cement cladding designed for the salt air.
